Larger than the sum of its parts, The Compound is a complex of spaces and a collective of artists, institutionally intersecting creativity, sociology, and the adaptive use of space. With a footprint the size of a city block, we incubate over 30 local creatives, house a number of community businesses and nonprofit organizations, and host innovative public programs that challenge the roles of a nonprofit art space. 

Outside In is an opportunity for us to showcase the current state of production taking place at The Compound. Behind our doors, limitless structural iterations unfold in the pursuit of balancing the collective needs and desires of the community—we are defined by our flexibility to adapt, mutate and evolve. The best way to understand our vision, in its most current state, is to experience it.

Through interactive workshops and panel discussions, guests will be invited to explore various active concepts with guidance from our artist community. While exploring open studios and our collective exhibition, audiences can engage those who base their practices at the Compound. Our courtyard will offer a central place to gather, hear live music, share meals, enjoy refreshments, and cultivate community between activities.
