Passive house ARTIST SPACEs

Four row houses, formerly vacant and condemned, have been rehabilitated to Passive House standards—the highest net-zero environmental standards—creating 16 units for Baltimore artists to live, work, collaborate, and develop their practices.

All artists are invited to apply.

All artists are invited to apply for one of 3 residential units and 11 art studios of various sizes and price ranges.

All units have access to shared kitchens with slop sinks, communal spaces, and our courtyard, with wifi and utilities included.

WHAT Are passive standards?

Passive building comprises a set of design principles used to attain a high level of energy efficiency. Passive houses use continuous insulation throughout their entire envelope, paired with high performance windows and doors. This effectively allows the building to be airtight, which offers comfort in extreme weather, better air quality, resilient buildings, and a path to net zero construction.

This project will be the third passive house project—and the first multi-unit passive house development—in Baltimore City.
